Neuenhauser Kompressorenbau GmbH as part of the Neuenhauser Group was founded in 1986 by taking over the entire compressor manufacturing program of Jos. L. Meyer (Meyer Werft). Since then, air and water cooled piston type air compressors with operating pressures up to 60 bar are developed, manufactured and sold by NK.
In 1995 we took over the air receiver division of Thyssen Umformtechnik.
To serve our customers with a complete product range in the field of starting air, working air and control air systems NK became authorized distributor of TDI TURBO TWINTM Engine Air Starters of the American manufacturer Tech Development (TDI) from Dayton, Ohio.
Since 2002 NK offers working air compressors made by Renner in Germany. The screw type compressors are available in a pressure range up to 15 bar with air receiver and air dryer if required.
NK containers offer mobile compressed air systems ready for installation, which are individually adapted according to customer specifications.
With our product range we are able to support our customers within the marine, the oil and gas industry and plant engineering as reliable partner for design and service of air compressor units and compressed air components.
NK air system components are used primarily for starting Diesel and Gas engines. Moreover NK supplies compressed air plants as well as air purification systems for working and control air applications used for shipping, offshore and onshore oil rigs, power plants and industries.
We are able to supply NK products in accordance with the regulations of all relevant societies for classification, e.g. GL, LRS, BV, DNV, ABS, CCS etc.
All compressed air units can be built in modular construction, if required on a base frame or in a container, with complete pipe work system and cabled compressors, receivers, compressed air preparation as well as the pertinent condensate technology.
Proven design – high performance – reliable
NK manufactureses compressors for a multiplicity of applications.
Piston compressors with operating pressures up to 60 bar and flow rates up to 324 m3/h are used to start diesel and gas engines as well as gas turbines or to produce PET bottles.
A further application is the refining of glass in autoclaves.
The compressors are available with electrical or diesel engine drives, direct or belt driven . If required with compressor control.
Additional control equipment is available such as thermostate in compressed air outlet, oil level switch, space heaters, sequence selectors, etc.
All compressors are of modular construction. Up to three compressors can be installed onto a common base frame. If required air receivers can be integrated.
The units are fully tested and ready for installation.
Type approvals of classification societies are available for almost all piston type compressors.
2-and 3- stage
Air-cooled 2-stage NK piston type compressors series 09.2.2.-43.2.2 are double acting single cylinder compressors, for operating pressures up to 40 bar.
Air-cooled 3-stage NK piston type compressors series 40.2.3 are used for working pressures up to 60 bar, equipped with one to six cylinders, depending on the required flow rate.
Water-cooled 2-stage NK piston type compressors series 28.1.2.-50.1.2 are double acting, single-cylinder compressors for operating pressures up to 40 bar.
Water-cooled 3-stage NK piston type compressors series 60.1.3 are used for workiong pressures up to 60 bar and equipped with one to six cylinders, depending on the required volume flow.
Water-cooled 2-stage NK piston type compressors series HD are used for workiong pressures up to 40 bar and equipped with one or two cylinders, depending on the required volume flow.
The 2-stage piston type compressor H25 is a double cylinder compressor used for working pressure up to 50 bar.

|NK- valve heads have been designed and developed especially for application as armatures on starting-air receivers.
They are available with nominal flow diameters of DN 38, DN 50 and DN 80. The construction of valve head DN 38 conforms to DIN 6276.

The shut-off-, safety-, control and monitoring armatures are integrated in a central, compact and space-saving manner in one steel block. The valve head is flanged to the starting-air receiver.

Shipbuilding – Marine Industries – Onshore & Offshore Power Generation
NK pressure vessels division specialises on the production of starting-air receivers.
Starting-air receivers are used for storage of compressed-air that is used to start big Diesel engines, gas engines and gas turbines. The range of application includes ship propulsion, pump gear and power generation on ships, oil drilling rigs, Diesel- and gas power plants, combined heat and power plants and emergency backup power generators.
Standard sizes of 30 to 2500 L volume at 30 bar working pressure are produced according or in approximation to DIN 6274 and DIN 6275.
NK supplies starting-air receivers with suitable valve heads in nominal diameters of DN 38, DN 50 and DN 80.
Bigger vessels, vessels with different operating data and special designs will be manufactured specifically according to the clients demands.
The vessels (and valve heads) are type-approved by all marine classification societies and also according to PED 97/23/EC and AD2000-regulation. They will be supplied with all required inspections and certificates.
Welded constructions for plant-, process-, apparatus- and mechanical engineering
Since end of 1995 NK manufactures steel and stainless steel pressure vessels.
We specialised in the production of starting-air receivers that are used for starting big Diesel engines in shipbuilding and power plant applications.
Supplier of complete systems: If desired the tanks can be supplied with all required armatures, accessories and other necessary equipment. In cooperation with our compressors department we supply also “turn-key” compressed-air plants ready-to-operate , for example in skid- or container- construction.
Further NK projects and manufactures custom-made special designs and small batch series for various applications just specifically according to the clients performance specifications.
Our customers are mainly engine manufacturers, shipyards, shipbuilding industries and as well engineering companies, plant- and apparatus maker and process engineering.
Besides the fabrication of tanks our scope of supply comprises the production of welded components for mechanical engineering, plant- and process engineering as well as the construction of apparatus.
Pressure vessels are designed, manufactured and tested according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive PED 97/23/EC and AD2000 regulations. Furthermore approvals, inspections and certifications according to the rules of all international marine classification societies are standard.
The manufacturer qualification according to ASME code with “U-Stamp” is under preparation. Product certifications GOST-R and Gosgortechnadzor are possible on special request, too.
|Nk is certified acc. to EN ISO 9001. Moreover we are certified acc. to KTA 1401 by Framatome ANP GmbH (a cooperation between Siemens and Framatome) as planner, manufacturer and service company for compressed-air plants.
Our products are type-approved and manufactured acc. the rules of the relevant classification societies for shipbuilding and offshore industrie.
